Emo Park

Doesn't this park look somewhat interesting? It is, I absolutely love the architectural designs that were put in Hindmarsh Square a couple of years ago but for some reason, I have never been able to enjoy them. Why? EMO'S!
For some reason our little town has been overrun by emo/punk/scene/etc people and I'm angry to say that this little park has now been nicknamed 'Emo Park.' I have nothing against them and their 'lifestyle' but what really annoys me is that they think they are better than us normal people. What is there to be proud of? You dropped out of school? You can smoke and drink UNDERAGE? You can PARTAY everyday and get drunk? You ALL hang out at emo park?

Perhaps I'm being too stereotypical, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't enjoy being stared at all the time by them. It's annoying every time I go to town I feel like I'm being judged over nothing. SHEESH GET LIVES! Well I guess this is directed at the younger ones. I don't see what is the need to actually drop out of school after yr10. It's not going to get you anywhere in life and you'll probably grow up to be a bum living off Centrelink or working at KFC/Hungry Jacks. Seriously, what is wrong with going to school until yr12? Sure the work gets harder, but life isn't about free tickets and easy rides, it's about working hard to strive for achieving the best you can. I understand that some people do quit after yr10 because they just can't cope with school or find it difficult to learn, but dropping out just because you can? I had a friend who did drop out, she had no plans for her future and I constantly told her not to be stupid and continue. She obviously didn't listen and I have no idea what she's doing right now. Last I heard she had no job, lived off Centrelink and was waiting until she turned 18 to get an apprenticeship. That's 3 years of her life wasted, why? Because she couldn't be bothered with school.

I'm sure every school offers similar subjects, so with that said there are easy subjects to choose from in yr12. Voc to get qualifications and training while still being at school. VET courses are available too. Yr12 doesn't have to be difficult unless you're certain people and do the suicide 5(crazy asses) but it is manageable if you are organised and committed. I don't even know where I'm going with this anymore but what it comes down to is the future. The only things that are offered to people without completion of yr12/11 is TAFE and most of the times they only accept if you've completed yr11. There is nothing for people who do not finish school unless it's a low paying job that will get them nowhere in 10yrs time.

So what I'm trying to say kiddies is : STAY IN SCHOOL!

(:
